    How to block websites on android/iPhone/iPad, chrome/Safari/Firefox

    If you have children, you may want to block unsafe websites like adult sites, porn sites, gaming sites, video sites and so it's easy to block any Web site from the OpenDNS. This allows you to limit the websites on any computer or router, or you can set it up in minutes.

    Each child gets their own Tablet as the Nexus 7/10, HD, iPad, light a fire, it is important to monitor what they can access on the Internet. You can have limits on your kids download apps using mature ratings. But if they have access to a browser, they can do anything.

    OpenDNS home:
    1. go to the OpenDNS home page setup, select which device you want to block websites on. You can block websites on a single computer, Windows PC, Mac or iPad, Wii, etc.



    2. you can block Web sites directly on the router instead of on separate devices. OpenDNS has instructions for most routers.



    OpenDNS FamilyShield:
    1. allows you to block pre-defined FamilyShield adult sites. You can install it & forget it. New sites are added to the filter automatically. This is the easiest way to block adult sites.

    After you configure any of the options listed above, make sure to flush dns to flush the dns cache. You can also clear the cache in browsers. You can test it by going here for OpenDNS home or here for FamilyShield.

    Configuring OpenDNS takes a few minutes, and you are free from unsafe content. This method works all Android tablets, including the Nexus 7/10, Samsung Tab, light a fire, etc. and other tablets like the iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone, etc.

    How to connect Samsung Galaxy Camera to TV using HDMI, AllShare, DLNA

    Samsung’s android based point and shoot camera, Samsung Galaxy Camera, is available now. It has 4.8? screen for taking photos, recording hd videos including 1080p videos. You can share or display your photos & videos on the big screen hd tv easily.

    How to connect Galaxy Camera to HD TV
    1. Galaxy Camera has hdmi out slot. You can connect Galaxy Camera to HD TV using the HDMI cable. You will also need Samsung micro hdmi adapter. You can buy micro hdmi adapter on for about $30. If you don’t have wifi, this is useful.
    2. If you have Samsung Smart TV or any other DLNA compliant TV or device, You can stream photos & videos from galaxy camera to them using AllShare android app. You can access AllShare app in the Applications on your Galaxy Camera. You need to be on the same WiFi network for both Camera & TV.

    If you don’t have WiFi enabled TV, You can use Samsung WiFi All-Share Cast Hub to enable wireless display to your TV. This can mirror your Galaxy Camera’s screen on your big TV.
    3. You should be able to use other android apps for AirPlay & DLNA using apps like iMediaShare etc. I did not test these. You should be able able to stream media from your camera to TV or projector as long as they are DLNA compliant.

    How to airplay YouTube videos from iPad & iPhone

    Since iOS6 launch, native YouTube app was missing from iPad. But, Google announced native YouTube app for iPad now. You can download official YouTube app from iTunes store now. You don’t need to use 3rd party YouTube apps any more.

    AirPlay is Apple’s technology for streaming videos, photos, music to your Apple TV device to watch the media on your TV’s big screen. This little important feature was missing in YouTube app before.

    Latest Official YouTube app with version 1.1 now supports AirPlay feature. You can stream media directly to Apple TV from your iPad, iPhone.

    As per user comments on the iTunes app page, It seems YouTube app is slow to buffer than the original YouTube app included with iPad & iPhone.
