How to enable 4g LTE on LG Nexus 4 for AT&T, Telcel, Bell etc

LG Nexus 4 android phone does not have official support for LTE. It supports HSPA+ networks. You can enable LTE on Nexus 4 If you are in Canada, Some parts of USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico depending on your carrier.

Most talked missing feature was LTE in Nexus 4. But it seems LTE is working on networks that support LTE Band 4 as per this video. LTE Band 4 1700/2100 MHz frequencies are available on Bell, MTS, Rogers, Telus networks in Canada, Telcel in Mexico, AT&T in USA, Puerto Rico and Leap Wireless, MetroPCS in USA. Not sure If it works on all these networks.

How to enable LTE on LG Nexus 4
    1. On your Nexus 4, Go to dialer and enter *#*#4636#*# to get to Phone Menu . You can also get to this screen using Phone Info app.

    2. It might show HSPAP as network type depending on the carrier and set preferred network as WCDMA Preferred.

    3. Change it to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL). You will see network type changed to LTE after few seconds.

It seems LTE download speeds are little better than HSPAP. On Telus network, speed test showed 16Mbps download speed, 15Mbps upload speed compared to HSPAP’s 10 Mbps download & 3 Mbps upload speeds.
