It was a fun game to play – and definitely more visually appealing than solitaire – and has therefore become a classic in simple computer games. Now that we’re overrun with mobile devices, there’s a lack of those old classics on these devices.

Pinball is one of those classics that is sorely missed on mobile devices, but thankfully I found a great pinball game that is sure to entertain many who enjoy the game.

    About Pinball Deluxe

Pinball Deluxe is a game for all Android devices which run on Android 2.1 and above. It has a straightforward implementation of pinball, and offers a large amount of different layouts for your game. The controls are also extremely easy to learn, so anyone who knows the basic controls for pinball can dive straight into the game and rack up points.

Unlike most other games, this one isn’t available for any iOS devices. However, iOS users looking for a good pinball game should check out Pinball Fantasies, as recommended on MakeUseOf’s Best iPhone Games page.

    First Launch

When you first launch the game, you’ll be presented with the main menu, from which you can choose to play a game, go through the options, get help with the controls, look at global scores, and exit. When you choose to play a game, you can choose which layout you’d like to play on, and then move on to your game.

In the options screen, you can mainly configure sound settings such as whether it should ask you to turn sound on or off at each startup.

    Gameplay

Gameplay is simple, fun, and typical pinball. To start the game, you’ll need to tap and hold anywhere on the screen in order to pull back the spring, and then let go to propel the pinball upward. You can use the entire left and right sides of your screen to control the left and right flippers, respectively. Tilting the game can be accomplished by shaking your device, and you can pause and resume the game by tapping at the top of your screen.

Otherwise, there’s not much to it! Just try to keep the pinball going as long as possible with the flippers in order to rack up the most points, which it does whenever it hits certain items on the playing field.

    Scores

Whenever you run out of your three lives, the game will end and your score will be posted to your device’s list of high scores if it was high enough. If you connect to the online service, you can also post your scores to the global scoreboard, as well as check on other people’s scores.

    Installation

The game can be easily installed by searching for “pinball deluxe” in the Google Play Store. If you wish, you may also follow this link with your mobile device to go directly to the app in the Play Store, or with your desktop to go to the app’s page, from which you can click on install to remotely initiate an installation of the app on your selected device. The game is only at 14MB, so it shouldn’t take much time to get it downloaded and installed.

    Conclusion

Once I discovered Pinball Deluxe, I fully remembered how much I liked playing those old classic games. While it’s certainly not the most complex game out there, it’s definitely entertaining and will most likely stay that way. If you ever played Pinball in real life or on any other device, give Pinball Deluxe a shot! It’s absolutely free for you to try out and enjoy.
